Every Thanksgiving needs good appetizers. How else are you going to keep people out of the bread basket and away from the turkey while it cools? Char-Griller Ambassador Angel Hernandez of @bustedcanofbiscuits' Sweet Potato Medallion Recipe is sure to be a crowd pleaser. 

Instructions

    Light grill for indirect heat and heat grill to 375 degrees

    Brush both sides of the sweet potato slices with olive oil

    Ingredients

    • Olive Oil
    • 1 Large Sweet Potato, 1/2 inch slices

    Sprinkle them with cinnamon and sugar on both sides

    • Sugar

    Place slices directly on grill or on a mesh cooking tray

    Allow the slices to cook for 15 minutes then turn over and cook for an additional 15 minutes

    Mix together goat cheese, cream, and honey in a small bowl

    Ingredients

    • 4 ounces Goat Cheese
    • 1 tablespoon Heavy Cream
    • 1 tablespoon Honey

    Spoon a teaspoon of the cheese mixture on the warm sweet potato slices

    Sprinkle each slice with cranberries, thyme, and walnuts

    • 1 tablespoon Dried Cranberries, Chopped
    • 1 tablespoon Walnuts, Chopped
    • 1 teaspoon Fresh Thyme, Chopped

    Drizzle with honey before serving
