Smoked Meatball Subs

Ingredients
- 1 Bread Rolls
- 2 Mozzarella Cheese
- 3 Fresh Basil
- 4 Pepperoncinis
- 5 Sauce: 3 Jars of your Favorite Pasta Sauce, 1/2 Diced White Onion, 6 Minced Garlic cloves,1 TBSP Pepper Flakes, 1 TBSP Fresh Basil
- 6 Meatballs: 2 Lbs of Ground Beef, 2 LBS Ground Hot Italian Sausage, 1 Cup Italian Bread Crumbs, 1 Cup Parmesan Cheese, 1/2 Cup Minced White Onion, 1/2 Cup Minced Parsley, 4 Eggs, 2 Tbsp Red Pepper Flakes, 5 Minced Garlic Cloves, 5 Minced Garlic Cloves
Add a layer of smoke to your meatball subs with this Smoked Meatball Subs recipe! Smoky and savory, these subs are sure to be enjoyed by everyone!
Instructions
- In a bowl mix the ground beef, sausage, eggs, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, parsley and seasonings
- Mix well and begin forming your meatballs
- Place them on a wire rack for easy transportation on and off the smoker
- Preheat your Char-Griller AKORN® to roughly 300*F
- Smoke the meatballs until they reach an internal temp of 165*F
- Prepare your sauce by sautéing your onion, garlic, red pepper flakes and basil until golden brown
- Then add in your 3 jars of sauce and bring to a simmer
- Add in your meatballs once they're done smoking
- Turn your bread rolls into cheesy garlic bread by adding Char-Griller Garlic and Herb Seasoning and Mozzarella cheese. Broil until the cheese is nice and melted
- Add a few pepperoncinis to the bottom bun and then add your meatballs
- Add a bit more sauce over the top and finish with fresh grated parmesan cheese and fresh basil
