I absolutely love these chicken legs butterflied because the binder, seasonings, and sauce get on all sides and inside of the leg, making the meat taste much better and more flavorful. It helps to have them butterflied because they cook evenly, and they don't roll around the cooking grill grates. This is definitely one of the ways I like to make chicken legs.

Rinse and clean the chicken legs with cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.

Butterfly cut the chicken legs to help open them up to allow the seasonings to season the chicken legs. This also helps cook the chicken legs quicker.

Coat all sides of the butterfly chicken legs with olive oil for the binder.

Season all sides of the butterfly chicken legs with Char-Griller Creole Seasoning & with a Cajun Seasoning.

Fire up your Char-Griller Gravity Fed 980 with lump charcoal to 505°.

Grill for 30 minutes, flipping them periodically, and begin to sauce.

Sauce the butterfly chicken legs with the raspberry chipotle sauce for the last 10 minutes.
