These Nashville Hot Chicken Sliders are a great addition to any summer cookout! Cooking them on the Flat Iron® Premium Gas Griddle makes this an easy recipe for a crowd, with minimal time and cleanup compared to traditional fried chicken—without sacrificing the crunch.

Instructions

    Marinate the Chicken

    In a bowl, mix the buttermilk and hot sauce. Soak chicken thighs at least 30 minutes or overnight for best flavor.

  2. Make the Nashville Hot Butter

    In a small pan or griddle safe pot, melt your butter and whisk in cayenne, brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder and pickle juice. Keep warm so it will drizzle easily over the cooked chicken. The sauce should look thick when glazed over the chicken. All those seasonings bring the heat!

    Preheat Griddle to medium high heat (around 425-450 degrees)

    From the bottom bun, place your pickles, Nashville Hot Chicken Thighs, scoop of slaw, then top bun.

  6. Dredge the chicken

    In a tray, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder and black pepper. Remove chicken from buttermilk then coat in flower mixture. Place floured thigh onto hot oiled griddle. Immediately press down with griddle press or spatula to smash it flat. Sear until golden brown (4-6 minutes), flip and cook through. (Internal temp 165-185)

    Transfer chicken to cooling rack. Brush the Nashville Hot Butter sauce over chicken thighs.

  10. Toast the buns

    Butter the inside of the buns and toast until golden brown.
