How to Install the Char-Griller App

Control and monitor your Char-Griller Gravity 980 Charcoal Grill all from your smartphone using the new Char-Griller App. From downloading to connecting, this blog is your quick start guide to next level grilling.

No matter if you have an iPhone or an Android, you can still enjoy the convenience of the Char-Griller App. Simply visit your respective App Store (Apple or Google Play). Install the free app.

Before opening the app, turn your grill controller on by holding the power button for 2 seconds. Open the app and connect via Bluetooth or Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

To connect Bluetooth:

1. Go to the settings page
2. Click on “Bluetooth”
3. Select “Gravity980-XXXX” from the list. Once a code appears on the controller display screen, enter it when requested by the app.
4. Pairing is complete once the flashing phone icon on the controller changes to solid.

To connect Bluetooth and Wi-Fi:

1. Follow all steps to connect to Bluetooth above then click on “Wi-Fi”
2. Select your preferred Wi-Fi network from the list (Please note: the app will only work on 2.4Ghz networks. It will not work on 5Ghz networks or networks that use 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies simultaneously. If your network is not compatible, then a Bluetooth connection will be your only option.)

Now you’re all set to use your Char-Griller App to control and check the temperature or set a timer. The possibilities are endless.
