Char-Griller Ambassador, Steve Dotson of @cookoutcoach, shares how to replace a broken fan flap on the Char-Griller Gravity 980.
Hey everyone! Today we’re going to talk about really one of the only issues that pops up on the Char-Griller Gravity 980 and that is how to replace a broken fan flap. Great news is this is one of those things that falls under warranty for this cooker so if you notice your gravity 980 is no longer holding temperatures like you expect look inside the ash pan door and take a look at the fan flap. If it is damaged or possibly warped enough to let extra air in to the charcoal silo it may be time to fill out that warranty claim on the char griller website. When you get your new flap in the mail, replacing it is as simple as removing a total of 7 bolts, honest to goodness even if you’re not a handy person this is such an easy fix. I hope this helps if you’re seeing temperature swings on your gravity 980 and gives you the confidence to take on that repair yourself!
