BLUEBERRY RECIPES

While we’re not fans of summer winding down, we are fans of blueberry season. Mid to late July means blueberries are at their peak and ready to be enjoyed.

In honor of this delicious summer fruit, we asked Team Char-Griller to make some creative recipes with blueberries. From sweets and sauces to barbecue and breakfasts, the Char-Griller ambassadors more than delivered!

Low Carb Blueberry Cobbler

Ambassador Sheena Hill (@keto_sheena) is a master when it comes to low carb desserts. She added a little of this and a little of that and threw it all in a cast iron skillet on the grill and out came this delicious recipe. It hits all of the sweet spots with none of the guilt. The perfect summer dessert to enjoy with a little whipped cream and some coffee after dinner.

Blueberry Jalaberno Smoked Wings

A serious mouthful to both say and eat, Bryan Head’s (@thebbqhead), Blueberry Jalbanero Smoked Wings combine blueberries and hot peppers to make a crazy delicious sauce for wings. The touch of smoke takes them over the top and we guarantee these won’t last long on your dinner table.

Blueberry BBQ Sauce

When we first presented this idea to our ambassadors, we knew we wanted a BBQ sauce. Sweet blueberries with some spice and smoke? How could that be bad? Ambassador Angel Hernandez, @bustedcanofbiscuts, gave her spin on it. She put it on top of pulled pork and said it was one of the best things that she has made. Don’t take our word for it though! Make it for yourself!

Smoked Blueberry Crisp

The Cookout Coach Steve Dotson stepped away from smoking meats for a day to smoke us a blueberry cobbler. The mixture of blueberries, brown sugar and the smoke from charcoal and wood is seriously incredible. Consider whipping it up the next time you’re smoking a pork butt, that way you’ll have something tasty to enjoy while you wait for the meat to be done.

Grilled Blueberry Breakfast Sausage Sandwiches

Every time we give ambassador Aubrey Johansen of @thatswhatsheeats a recipe idea, she takes it and gives us back something better than we ever could have imagined. For this recipe she not only makes maple butter, but also makes incredible chicken sausages sandwiches that are the perfect mix of sweet and savory. It’s a great dish for the next time you have houseguests and want to treat them to breakfast or brunch!
