Smoked Cedar Plank Salmon

    Marinade/Glaze (Soy Sauce,Sriracha,Honey,Garlic,Ginger)

    Veggie Skewers (Zucchini, Yellow Zucchini, Whole Mushrooms,Mini Sweet Peppers)

A classic from @PittBoysBBQ, this Smoked Cedar Plank Salmon is sure to be a crowdpleaser. Sauced with a tangy and bright soy sauce marinade with just the right amount of sweetness, this is the perfect recipe for guests. 

Instructions

  1. Season salmon fillets with salt, pepper, garlic and place in a dish or large zip lock bag
  2. Prepare marinade of ¾ cup soy sauce, 1 tbsp Sriracha hot sauce, 2 tbsp honey, tbsp minced ginger and 2-3 garlic cloves
  3. Reserve some marinade for basting 
  4. Marinate salmon for 30 mins -1 hour
  5. Slice lemons into rings
  6. Cut salmon into 4 inch wide fillets 
  7. Place salmon fillets on cedar planks and top each fillet with 2 lemon rings 
  8. Fire up your Char-Grillers Triple Play Grill and keep temperatures between 225-250*F
  9. Smoke low and slow and baste every 5-10 minutes
  10. Chop green and yellow zucchini and begin skewering vegetables 
  11. Grill the veggie skewers on the propane side of the Triple Play
  12. Baste the skewers with the marinade as well
  13. Remove salmon from smoker when an internal temperature of 145*F is reached
  14. Serve with cilantro-lime rice, garlic bread, and enjoy!

Pitts Tips

  1. Soak the cedar planks in water ahead of time at least 1 hour to prevent burning
  2. Baste the salmon every 5-10 minutes to a allow for the sugars to caramelize
  3. Don’t forget to grill the lemon halves also!
