Steve Dotson of Cookout Coach shares his Smoked Meatloaf recipe on the Gravity 980: Hey everyone, what could you do to make one of the best comfort foods even better? Put a little smoke on it! That's exactly what we’re going to do today with our hickory smoked meatloaf. This is a super simple recipe, easy for the weeknight meal and comes out tasting phenomenal. With meatloaf you can really play with it and make it your own: sauce, gravy, glaze, or nothing at all. It's always a crowd pleaser, and you can make it whichever way is your favorite. If you give this one a try let me know how it comes out because its absolutely one of my favorite things to make and eat!
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix together
- Grease a loaf pan and put the mixture into the loaf pan
- Place the loaf pan in the freezer for 5 minutes
- After the time is up in the freezer, grease a cooking rack and transfer the loaf out of the pan and onto the rack
- With the Char-Griller Gravity 980 running at 350 degrees and some hickory smoke going, place the rack in the center of the grate until the center of the meatloaf reaches 165 degrees (roughly an hour)
- If you would like, you can glaze your meatloaf with BBQ sauce at this point and let that set for 5 minutes
- Pull the loaf from the cooker, let cool and serve
