Ingredients

  • 1
    6-8 bratwurst
  • 2
    (1) 12 oz. bottle beer
  • 3
    ½ C. brown sugar
  • 4
    1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 5
    1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 6
    2 Tsp. cornstarch
  • 7
    1 onion, diced
  • 8
    2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 9
    1-2 C. sliced mushrooms
  • 10
    1 Tsp. salt
  • 11
    1 Tsp. pepper
  • 12
    Cold water, as needed

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Place the bratwurst on the grill at 350°F and cook, flipping occasionally, until they reach an internal temperature of 170°F. Remove from grill and set aside.

2. While the bratwurst is cooking, make the sauce. Pour the beer and brown sugar into a pot over medium high heat; bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until mixture is reduced and thickened. Whisk in the mustard until smooth.

3. Whisk the cornstarch with 1 Tbsp. cold water in a bowl and add to the beer mixture. Bring the beer to a boil and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until sauce is thick. Add rest of the ingredients and stir to combine.

4. Slice the bratwurst into 1-inch pieces and add them to the pot with the sauce; toss to coat. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.
