Montreal Peppered Steak

"Montreal Peppered Steak is an easy way to give steak a restaurant quality flavor." Original recipe yield: 8 servings. Courtesy McCormick® & Company.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 teaspoons McCormick® Grill Mates® Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 2 pounds sirloin or strip steak

Directions:

  • Combine olive oil, soy sauce and Grill Mates® Montreal Steak Seasoning in a large self-closing plastic bag or glass dish. Add steak and seal bag or cover. Refrigerate 30 minutes or longer for extra flavor.
  • Remove steak from marinade; discard marinade. Preheat grill or broiler. Grill or broil steak 8-10 minutes per side, or to desired doneness.

Sizzlin Steak a la Montreal

Ingredients:

  • 4 teaspoons McCormick® Grill Mates® Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons McCormick® Ground Mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 New York strip or rib eye steaks, cut 1-inch thick

Directions:

  • Combine Grill Mates® Montreal Steak® Seasoning, ground mustard and balsamic vinegar to make a paste. Rub paste over both sides of steak.
  • Grill or broil over high heat 5 to 7 minutes per side or to desired degree of doneness.

Zesty Red Wine and Herb Steak

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon McCormick® Grill Mates® Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon McCormick® Italian Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick® Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 2 pounds top round steak, 1-inch thick

Directions:

  • Combine first 6 ingredients in a large, self-closing plastic bag or glass bowl. Add steak and marinate in refrigerator 30 minutes or longer for extra flavor. Remove steak from marinade; discard marinade.
  • Grill or broil steak 8-12 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Slice on the diagonal and serve.

Montreal Steak, Apricot, Pepper Skewers with Tomato Olive Relish

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds strip or sirloin steak, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons McCormick® Grill Mates® Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 2 red bell peppers, cut into 1 1/2-inch squares
  • 1 red onion, cut into 1 1/2-inch chunks
  • 16 dried apricots
  • Relish
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1/4 cup pitted black olive halves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic
  • 1/4 cup julienne-cut fresh basil
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon McCormick® Ground Black Pepper

Directions:

  • Rub steak with olive oil, then with Montreal Steak Seasoning.
  • Thread skewers, starting and ending with red pepper, and alternating steak, red onion, red pepper and apricot.
  • Preheat a grill or broiler to medium-high. Cook skewers 4-6 minutes per side or until meat is done.
  • In a medium bowl, combine relish ingredients. Serve skewers with relish.
